The 7-Day Earthbag Workshop starts every Friday.

The Workshop starts with a one day theory presentation in our office in Lainchour, Kathmandu. The next six days are hands-on practical experience at one of our Earthbag build sites in the following districts: Makwanpur, Gorkha, Sindupalchok, Nuwkot and Dhading.

Certification: After completion of 7-Day workshop, the participants receive a Certificate of Completion of Earthbag Building Training by Good Earth Nepal in collaboration with Dr. Owen Geiger.

Cost: The course is free for Nepalis (pay for your own food and transportation to the village) and $250 for foreigners (includes food, transportation and accommodation)

Our first round of trainings took place in September and October and was a huge success and we were filled to maximum capacity. Through sponsoring Dr. Owen Geiger, internationally acclaimed Earthbag building expert and author, we were able to train 300 builders, architects, engineers, and many other interested individuals. 

Owen Geiger, Ph.D. is a licensed building contractor with a Ph.D. in Social and Economic Development. Considered the world’s leading expert in Earthbag technology, he is founder of the Geiger Institute of Sustainable Building, a former Director of Builders Without Borders, and has worked closely with Habitat for Humanity, the United Nations Institute of Training and Research and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
